I walked into the room dripping

in
GOLD.

[29086_2324_123_62lo.jpg]

transparent, light.

The yellow warmth
in my side
turned to stone
when I saw Jinny kiss Louis.

I shall eat grass and die in a ditch in the brown water where
dead leaves have
rotted.

Diamond Bones mentioned it here.
I mentioned it a while ago but insist on re-posting because of how fantastic it is.

 sister smile

Glad I got girls, GRRL.

Jeanine Deckers, the musical Belgian wonder known as
the Singing Nun.
This song is so light and airy and it makes me wander through flowery green meadows like the ones in the sound of music but I could also imagine it played in a slasher flick when the unsuspecting are being preyed upon. shivers!

Who needs Maria when you've got Lara and Gemma?
amen.

doldrums and daffodils.

Today, I got bullied for the first time since I was 9. I lived in England

and the boys in my grade made fun of me for having an

American accent. I blush.

Jejune!

SO,

on my way home on the train I was kind of bummed. I thought the bully was sorta a friend, no doubt and I was kind of feeling like there was a GIGANTIC "V" for vendetta on my forehead... the poke was a passive aggressive petal. a pretty dumb one. Regardless.

lost and found greta

Incidentally, there is a kind man that sells flowers outside of the subway stop by my house. He is always there, and no one ever buys any flowers from him.

(Lola, you say, this is such a sad tale. and what is up with this depressing pic of a brunette metaphorically standing in as you appearing downcast and trodden?-- hang in there it is meaningful I swear!)

Well, I bought a bouquet of daffodils from this man.

Yellow and White.

And on my way home, I made a quick delivery and put them through the bars of the bully's conveniently situated first floor window.

I was in

the

BELLY OF THE BEAST!!

The motivation for this murky monster most likely lurking belligerently inside, or hungover and in a blue gatorade coma.

Cronies abound lurking for sure!

(this much I know. cryptic references aside.)

.

I could feel the gloominess and doldrums seeping out of the window. I could almost see it like a thick green fog emanating from a faery-tale swamp. The daffodil was soaking it up like a sponge.

Art Smith
modernist jewelry circa 1962

From the Village to Vogue
Art attended Cooper Union, and lived and worked in Greenwich Village and Harlem. Hey! you know where that is too? cool. great bio here.

"Patina" Necklace

A piece of jewelry is in a sense an object that is not complete in itself. Jewelry is a ‘what is it?’ until you make it relate to the body. The body is a component in design just as air and space are. Like line, form, and color, the body is a material to work with. It is one of the basic inspirations in creating form.”

"Galaxy" Necklace and earrings 1962

Pretty and shiny. What's that bird that loves sparkly shiny things? I am that bird.
Beautiful glam. These are more like sculptures, to me, than jewels. Wearable sculptures.

"Metallic Boa" Necklace 1964

Inspired by Calder's mobiles. fancy that.

This one is attractive. In a different way. In a
gothy,
art-nouveau-y
way.

pale to compare

I am in the market for new shoes. I have the sad task of replacing the best ankle boots I ever bought. Like the genius I am I decided to wear them the night the sky took a big blizzardy poo on the lawn that is NYC. For those of you that remember that fateful evening of Dec. 20th.

Alas. that is in the past! So now I move on. I am looking for black booties. not open toe. ones that are good for winter AND spring. The Dancing kind. The kind that hurt you feet. yes.

Because of my undiagnosed ADD. The search for these very specific shoes have led me through mountains and over rivers. and visa versa.
Somehow I landed at the Opening Ceremony shoe page...

The next question is-
Which personal belongings must I sell to get these???

Sight. Now,

One of my very dearest lady loves: Lindsay Jones Diamond Bones played this song during our cabin escape over New Years. I finally found out that it was Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros.

Diamond Bones, too, is in transition between her manic panic plum hair and some incarnation of pony pastels. Inspiring ruby, fearless heartshine*

In my hair this morning...

I dyed my hair earlier today for the very first time!
It's only a little Pony's tail from the bottom layer of my hair. More to come. For now, the rest has been left "ah-naturale." (sp?)
It is pastel violet and is currently in a little pony braid.
The rest which has been retouched is Alice Dellal inspired with the side shaven so the rest can be flipped over like a pony mane. nayyy.
